'Twilight' director to helm 'Maze Runner'

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is reportedly in talks to direct upcoming drama The Maze Runner.

According to Deadline, the project is based on a young adult novel by James Dasher.

The story centres on a group of teenagers who must navigate a maze to escape a trap.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (The Spiderwick Chronicles) is producing the film.

Hardwicke's Red Riding Hood arrives in US cinemas next March. Her previous films also include Seventeen and Lords of Dogtown.
