According to Entertainment Weekly, the Glee star is to act in the untitled movie, described as a workplace comedy.
Monteith recently completed work on Monte Carlo, opposite Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and singer Selena Gomez.
The actor has previously appeared in a number of other films, but only achieved leading man status following his current role as Finn Hudson in Glee.
No further details about Monteith's Fox 2000 project have been revealed.
