Bobby Moresco, who co-wrote Crash with Paul Haggis, has agreed to adapt Mike Lupica's upcoming baseball novel, Heat, for Walden Media.
The story centres on a 12-year-old Cuban immigrant who is a baseball ace and lives in the shadows of Yankee Stadium with his 17-year-old brother, Variety reports. He dreams of playing in the Little League World Series until a rival accuses him of being over the age limit.
Moresco and Haggis recently won the Writer's Guild Award for Crash and are nominated for the best original screenplay award at the upcoming Oscars.
