Jolie 'hopes Cleopatra role works out'

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she is anxious to portray Cleopatra on screen.

Talking to MTV News, the actress admitted that while she is looking forward to exploring the historic character, no details have yet been finalised regarding the project's start date.

"I hope to one day [play her], but we don't have it all together. All the pieces are not together," she explained.

"I think there's a lot about her history that's not been explored and properly done."

Jolie's partner Brad Pitt is also rumoured to be considering taking on the role of Cleopatra's lover Mark Antony.
