Michelle Monaghan will also star in the movie which will adapt Dennis Lehane's novel for screen. Lehane's (Mystic River) story revolves around two private investigators searching for an abducted 4-year-old in the Boston underworld.
Monaghan can currently be seen in North Country, whilst Casey Affleck has recently finished work on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
Shooting will begin this summer in Boston, Variety reports.
