Mark Wahlberg to produce 'The Raven'

Mark Wahlberg has signed to produce upcoming sci-fi thriller The Raven.

The project is based on a short film by Ricardo De Montreuil, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Universal acquired the rights to the short and plans to adapt it into a feature-length film.

The story follows a man with superpowers who is being hunted in Los Angeles by robotic police drones.

Universal's Raven is not related to Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven or the similarly named Intrepid Pictures film project starring John Cusack as Poe.
