Matt Damon in talks for Blomkamp's 'Elysium'

Matt Damon is in early negotiations to star in Neill Blomkamp's District 9 follow-up Elysium, reports Deadline.

Details about the project are being kept under wraps, although the story is said to take place on another planet in the distant future.

Sharlto Copley, who starred in District 9, is the only other confirmed member of the cast.

Elysium is being financed by Media Rights Capital and will seek a distribution deal with Hollywood studios once a major cast is attached.

Damon can next be seen in The Adjustment Bureau, due out in cinemas in March next year.
