'Animal Kingdom' still - Sullivan Stapleton and Jacki Weaver
Animal Kingdom cleaned up at the recent Australian Film Industry Awards.

The Aussie crime movie, which stars Jacqui Weaver and Ben Mendelsohn, won in 10 categories out of a possible 18, including 'Best Film', 'Best Actor' and 'Best Original Screenplay'.

After Weaver was named 'Best Actress', director David Michod told the ABC: "I'm just so excited that Jacqui's name is being mentioned in these circles at all. Who knows what will happen, there's absolutely no guarantee that she'll get an Oscar nomination but what I do know is that she is well and truly in that mix."

Joel Edgerton, who was named 'Best Supporting Actor' for his role in the movie, said: "I really think Animal Kingdom will go down in history as one of the great Australian films, and I'm very proud to be a part of that.

"It's a cool movie, it's very well made, and I hope it inspires a lot of younger filmmakers to make good movies."
