Guggenheim: 'The Flash will be dark'

Speaking to MTV, the scribe revealed that the superhero movie will contain elements of crime thriller inspired by Se7en and The Silence Of The Lambs.
"The tone is sort of darker, and more like Se7en and Silence Of The Lambs in that mysterious and noir-ish way, which is also working in conjunction with the superhero elements," he said.
"It's a lot of fun. I think the character is made for a story and a screenplay that gives you more than the sum of its parts."
Provisionally scheduled for release in 2013, the film will focus on the Barry Allen version of the Scarlet Speedster. During the interview, Guggenheim explained that the popular incarnation was chosen to honour the character's legacy.
Guggenheim is penning a screenplay for The Flash alongside Michael Green and Greg Barlanti. A director for the project is yet to be announced.
