McAvoy for zombie 'Pride and Prejudice'?

James McAvoy is reportedly being considered for a lead role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

The film, which is based on the Seth Grahame-Smith novel of the same name, sees the regency world of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice told against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse.

McAvoy has been linked to the role of Mr Darcy in the adaptation, while Love and Other Drugs actress and next year's Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway has been named as a potential star to play Elizabeth Bennett.

School of Rock writer Mike White is rumoured to be helming the project, which is slated for a 2011 release.

Last year, it was reported that Black Swan actress Natalie Portman would not only produce the movie, but would take the role of the feisty, zombie-battling Bennett sister.
