'Rock Of Ages' director hints at casting

Adam Shankman has hinted that rumours of Hollywood actors Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and Gwyneth Paltrow being under consideration for parts in his film adaptation of Rock Of Ages may in fact be true.

Since the film's announcement, it has been speculated that New Line has approached Tom Cruise for a small singing role in the musical, and Gwyneth Paltrow herself has admitted being sent the script to read.

"Rumours: T Cruise as Stacee, Alec Baldwin as Dennis, Mary J as Justice, Gwyneth Paltrow as Constance from Rolling Stone... sounds crazy :) (sic)," Shankman tweeted yesterday evening.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, although Cruise has yet to officially be offered the part, he is in talks with New Line and has even submitted some ideas for the script.

Alec Baldwin has also reportedly been offered the part of Dennis Dupree, but has yet to accept.

Production on Rock Of Ages is expected to begin sometime in 2011.
