It was recently announced that the Superman reboot would be directed by Zack Snyder (300). Now, Peter Leitch, the chair of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC and president of North Shore Studios and Mammoth Studios, has revealed that the movie will be shot in Vancouver, reports Coming Soon.
"[Zack Snyder's] next feature's coming here," said Leitch.
Leitch did not explicitly name Superman: Man of Steel. However, a source revealed that the film will in fact be shot in Vancouver, with production starting this summer.
David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, the same men behind Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, co-wrote the script. As of yet, no-one has been cast in the lead role, though a variety of people have been rumoured for it, including The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and White Collar's Matt Bomer.
Superman: Man of Steel is expected to open in December 2012.
