Hailee Steinfeld: 'Coen brothers are cool'

Hailee Steinfeld has insisted that True Grit directors Joel & Ethan Coen tried to create a "relaxed" atmosphere while filming the western.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, the 14-year-old actress explained that it was a pleasure to collaborate with the acclaimed filmmakers.

"Oh they are so cool. They are so calm and so relaxed," she said.

The star continued: "It's like I walked in and I was like, 'Oh my God'. It was so cool, and they were like, 'Hey Hailee, how are you?' And they are very calm, very relaxed, and very professional. They are very serious."

She further described the chance to work with Oscar winner Jeff Bridges on True Grit as "pretty incredible".

Earlier this week, Steinfeld revealed that red carpet events make her nervous.

True Grit is released on December 22 in US cinemas.
