David Strathairn has boarded a currently untitled football-based drama for Warner Bros. Pictures.
Starring Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox, the film focuses on the aftermath of the plane crash that killed members of the Marshall University football team and much of its coaching staff, commentators and fans.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Strathairn, who can currently be seen making his Oscar-nominated performance in George Clooney's Good Night and Good Luck, will play University president Dedmon, who is deeply affected by the loss of the team.
Produced by Basil Iwanyk, shooting will begin next month in West Virginia.
