Robert Capa was a Hungarian combat photographer who covered five wars over the course of his career. Capa died, camera in hand, after stepping on a mine in 1954 during the First Indochina War.
Arterton will play Capa's partner Gerda Taro, according to Total Film. Andrew Garfield, who starred in The Social Network and will play Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot, is rumoured for the role of Capa.
"This year's been intense, but next year's going to be intenser! I'm attached to about nine projects but I'm not sure which one's I'm allowed to talk about," Arterton said. She did, however, confirm that she will be starring in the Robert Capa movie.
Arterton starred in four movies in 2010: Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Disappearance of Alice Creed and Tamara Drewe.
