127 Hours helmer Danny Boyle was nominated for 'Best Director' honours along with Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan, Joel and Ethan Coen for True Grit, David Fincher for The Social Network and Christopher Nolan for Inception.
Jeff Bridges (True Grit), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Colin Firth (The King's Speech), Edgar Ramírez (Carlos), Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine) and James Franco (127 Hours) received 'Best Actor' nominations.
Nominations for 'Best Actress' went to Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right), Kim Hye-ja (Mother), Nicole Kidman (Rabbit Hole), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan).
Winners will be announced on January 3.
