Terry Gilliam to direct short film

Terry Gilliam has signed to direct a short film called The Wholly Family.

According to Bleeding Cool, the filmmaker also wrote the script for the 15-minute project.

Gilliam said that he penned the screenplay as "an exercise".

Shooting will begin in Naples on January 10. Italian pasta company Garofalo, which has sponsored other films about the city, is reportedly backing the movie.

The director is now casting for the parts of a father, a mother, their young sons, and supporting players that have mime, circus and ballet skills.
