Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has made the international top five highest grossing films.

It has now taken more than $600m (£343m) across the world to become the fifth biggest global movie ever.

Mike Newell's version of the fourth Potter instalment joints the first two, which have already made the top five. The list is still topped by Titanic, however.

Warner Bros Pictures International head of marketing Sue Kroll said she was delighted with the news. The director "captured the breadth and scope of this story," said Kroll. It "allowed us to create a truly segmented marketing campaign that appealed to moviegoers of all ages and walks of life."

The top five:

1. Titanic ($1.2bn)
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($752m)
3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ($657m)
4. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ($616m)
5. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ($600m)
