Mike Skinner has revealed that he has plans to embark on a filmmaking career after the release of The Streets' final album Computers And Blues.

The 32-year-old musician told The Guardian that he and his Beats record label collaborator Ted Mayhem are working on a script for a "punchy thriller" set in a hospital.

He said: "It doesn't involve any kebab shops. Or drug binges. The idea is to feel about something like I did at the beginning [of] The Streets, when I didn't know what was possible."

Skinner added that he plans to release the thriller online and isn't concerned about making a commercial film.

"We're not going to obsess ourselves with screenings and openings," he explained. "We've just got to make something that's beautiful - that's tense and interesting all the way through to the end. That's the core of art, sod everything else."

Computers And Blues will be released on February 7.
