John Goodman boards 'Extremely Loud'

John Goodman has reportedly joined the cast of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

The actor will star alongside Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks in the film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's post 9/11 novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stephen Daldry is directing the movie, which centres on a young boy named Oskar who loses his father in the September 11 attacks. Eric Roth penned the script.

Goodman has signed to portray the doorman in Oskar's apartment building.

The actor is also appearing in director Kevin Smith's upcoming horror movie Red State.
