McG selected to direct 'Ouija' movie

McG has been confirmed as the top choice to direct Universal's adaptation of Hasbro's Ouija board game, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Terminator Salvation director's pitch for the movie was received favourably by the studio, which chose him to direct the supernatural adventure ahead of Breck Eisner (The Crazies).

Tron: Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz penned the script for the blockbuster, which is inspired by The Mummy and Indiana Jones movies.

Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company is on board to produce Ouija.

McG, the director of the Charlie's Angels films, recently completed filming on action-comedy This Means War with Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy.
