James Cameron will direct The Dive, a film based on the true story of divers Francisco Ferraras and his wife Audrey Mestre.
Cameron has set Laeta Kalogridis the task of writing the screenplay, depicting the events of Mestre's fatal attempts to beat her own world record for diving without oxygen tanks.
Writer Kalogridis is currently writing Battle Angel with Cameron, who also has Project 880 in the pipeline.
