'Date Movie' remains top in Australia

'Date Movie' / Twentieth Century Fox

Date Movie remained the highest earning film in Australia last weekend, with Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line still the second most successful.

Giving the spoof treatment to the romantic-comedy genre, the film starring Adam Campbell and Alyson Hannigan took AUS$1.22m over the three-day period, with James Mangold's musical biopic taking AUS$1.09m.

The week's highest opener was horror movie Hostel, which debuted in third place with AUS$0.82m.
