The untitled Universal Pictures project has been scheduled for release on June 2012 and will be written, directed and produced by Apatow.
Rudd and Mann's Knocked Up characters Pete and Debbie were loosely based on Apatow's own relationship with wife Mann.
Rudd and Mann also had roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, while Mann starred in 2009's Funny People.
