Arterton, Hardy react to 'Rising Star' nom

A flawless Gemma Arterton at the London world premiere of 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time'

Gemma Arterton and Tom Hardy have expressed their happiness at being shortlisted for the BAFTA Orange Wednesdays 'Rising Star Award'.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Bond girl Arterton and Inception star Hardy are up against Aaron Johnson, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone for the honour.

Responding to the nomination, Tamara Drewe actress Arterton said: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be one of the shortlisted actors for the Orange Wednesdays 'Rising Star Award'.

"2010 was an incredible year for me and to be recognised in this way by both my peers and the film-going public is amazing."

She added: "I'm in very good company with the other actors who have been nominated, so it is a huge compliment to be considered to win this prestigious award."

Meanwhile, Hardy said: "I am so grateful to be doing what I love for a living, that is more than enough for me, so it's really kind of you to go out of your way to vote for me at all for any award."
