According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director (Moulin Rouge!) stated that he remains uncertain of whether he will shoot the upcoming movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio in 3D.
Luhrmann made the remark while in attendance at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Together with Michael Mann (The Last of the Mohicans) and Oliver Stone (Wall Street 2), the three directors shared their views on the advantages of the Blu-ray format.
"The power of Blu-ray is so great, you have to be a bit conscious about misusing it," said Luhrmann.
Meanwhile, Stone cautioned against the use of 3D, declaring that the technology can be expensive.
"Don't shoot a 3D movie unless you can afford it, otherwise you are putting yourself under enormous pressure," added Stone.
