Reuters reports that the actress will preside over France's version of the Academy Awards at the ceremony on February 25.
Foster - who spent much of her childhood in the country and speaks fluent French - has had roles in several French films including The Blood Of Others and A Very Long Engagement.
The 36th Annual César Awards will be broadcast from the Chatelet Theatre on pay TV network Canal Plus.
