Shane Black to direct 'Death Note' movie

Warner Bros is behind the big screen project, based on the Japanese manga series, reports Variety.
Screenwriters Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry are adapting the story for cinema.
Death Note centres on a high school student who gains the power to kill by writing someone’s name while picturing them in his mind.
Three Japanese-language movies based on the franchise have already been released.
Black directed the 2005 film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
