The Oscar-nominated actor accepted the honour in LA, ahead of Sundays Golden Globes, yesterday. BBC News reports that the 50-year-old was seen to wipe away a tear at the ceremony.
"When I look down there at that star, it's her name I see," he said of his wife. "I want to thank everybody that has accompanied me on this extraordinary journey. But probably more than anybody I could ever imagine Livia, who has walked every step of this with me joyfully and truthfully."
The King's Speech actor's star, which is placed next to Emma Thompson's, is the 2,429th on the Walk of Fame.
