John Cusack will star in and produce indie drama Grace is Gone for Plum Pictures, Variety reports.

Directed by James C. Strouse, the film will focus on a father who takes his two daughters on a road trip after learning that their mother has been killed in action in Iraq.

The film, which Strouse also wrote, will mark his directorial debut. Cusack will produce with Grace Loh through his New Crime Productions.

Shooting is expected to begin in April.
