Jameson 'won't feature in Spider-Man'

According to IGN, Peter Parker's cantankerous Daily Bugle boss Jameson isn't in director Marc Webb's 3D reboot of the Marvel superhero franchise.
Earlier rumours had claimed that John Slattery (Mad Men) and Sam Elliott (The Big Lebowski) were in contention for the role of Jameson.
J.K. Simmons appeared as the character in the three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films.
Garfield's untitled Spider-Man movie, co-starring Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and Denis Leary, will open in cinemas in July 2012.
