According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Danny Boyle-helmed film starring James Franco as rock climber Aron Ralston is now playing in 76 theatres, down from 433 after its November 5, 2010 release date.
However, the movie's producers are hoping to capitalise on the interest generated by the announcement of the shortlists for this year's Academy Awards, as Franco is expected to earn a 'Best Actor' nomination.
The drama has grossed $11.1 million (£6.9 million) in its run so far.
