Posting on Twitter, the screenwriter explained that she has two other projects to complete before tackling the comic book sequel.
"Saw a few erroneous reports today that I'm currently writing Kick-Ass 2 script - sorry if anyone's disappointed, but not true (sic)," she wrote. "Currently writing for two other projects, then on to lovely Matthew V's next thing (right now, looks unlikely to be KA2) when X-Men post-prod' ends."
Based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr, the original Kick-Ass arrived in theatres last year. Director Matthew Vaughn is expected to return to helm the sequel, and lead actors Lyndsy Fonseca, Chloe Moretz and Aaron Johnson are rumoured to be reprising their roles.
Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall is scheduled for 2012.
