Earlier this month, the penultimate film in the magical series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One, received two nominations in the 'Art Direction' and the 'Visual Effects' categories. However, Grint (Ron Weasley) insisted that the cast are not disheartened and will deliver an "epic" final instalment in July.
"We don't expect it," This Is London quotes him as saying of an Oscar nod. "Either way, the final movie will be huge. We did some re-shoots at the end of the year. We're really going to go out with a bang. That's everyone's goal really. It's kind of going to be pretty epic."
Praising the technical crew who have worked on the series, he continued: "It would be great to see the technical [team] recognition. They devote their whole lives to it."
Grint's co-star Richard Griffiths - Vernon Dursley in the movies - added: "It's sad it's only technical awards and not artistic ones. It's the biggest movie phenomenon on the planet. I remember when E.T. was the highest earning movie of all time - $870 million. With Harry Potter, you're talking $6 billion.
He added: "Guys? Something's going on! Why don't you honour it?"
The series has so far failed to turn any of its nine nominations into wins.
