According to Deadline, Berry was attached to star as a New York caterer who runs into an ex-lover (Jon Bon Jovi). However, the actress left the project and Heigl has now landed the role.
A reason for Berry's departure has not yet been reported.
The ensemble romantic comedy - director Garry Marshall's follow-up to Valentine's Day - will also feature Ashton Kutcher, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Lea Michele, Jessica Biel, Sofia Vergara and Abigail Breslin.
Heigl recently quit the Summit Entertainment project Adaline, reportedly because she didn't want to return to work so soon after adopting a baby.
