The film studio announced via Facebook that Scary Movie 5 is in development, according to First Showing.
"Scary Movie 5 is announced by The Weinstein Company," read the statement.
As of yet, there is little information on the sequel. No director has been chosen and Anna Faris, the star of the previous four movies, has not been confirmed for the fifth.
The last Scary Movie was released in 2006, grossing approximately $91 million (£56m) in the US.
