Queen Elizabeth II, who is portrayed in the Oscar-nominated picture by child actress Freya Wilson, was reportedly impressed by the film - particularly lead actor Colin Firth, who plays her father King George VI.
The monarch was sent two copies of the film shortly before Christmas, according to The Sun, and she watched it while at Sandringham House.
An insider said: "The Queen loves a good film. The King's Speech is close to the bone as it is a portrayal of her family in the 1930s, but she found it moving and enjoyable. She was clearly amused by some of the lighter moments."
The King's Speech leads the nominations at this year's BAFTAs and Academy Awards, which both take place later this month.
