Previously it was reported that Stewart had been approached about the part, but it now appears that the Twilight actress has entered negotiations for the role.
The Twilight actress had been the media favourite to play Snow White in the adaptation, alongside Disney actress Selena Gomez.
According to Gossip Cop, Stewart is currently in talks with Universal to agree terms for the film.
Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron are also attached to star in the project, which will be directed by Rupert Sanders.
Snow White and the Huntsman is currently scheduled for release on December 21, 2012.
