Production designer talks 'Pirates' villain

Myhre spoke with Coming Soon about designing the pirate ship for Blackbeard, who is played by Ian McShane, stating that the set is meant to inspire fear.
"We wanted to make Blackbeard the scariest pirate. It was something we were saying that was interesting, there hasn't really been a scary pirate in the Pirates movies," Myhre said.
"We wanted to make his ships as scary as possible. So we made the sails blood red, it almost looks like something you'd see at the bottom of a butcher shop. The whole ship had a skeletal theme to it."
Myhre went on to describe a cabinet in Blackbeard's own room.
"He keeps some very, very, very special treasure in it," he teased.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opens in UK cinemas on May 18 and in the US on May 20.
