According to Latino Review, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus - who scripted the original - have agreed to return for a proposed follow-up.
Marvel is yet to confirm plans for a sequel to the summer release, though actor Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers for The Avengers in 2012.
It was previously reported that Fred Van Lente is writing an eight-issue digital prequel to the movie. The first issue is available as a free download from Marvel's download platforms.
Captain America: The First Avenger debuts in theatres on July 22.
