The Dark Knight actor will be playing the role of Major Jackson 'Jax Briggs' from the famous gaming franchise.
Warner Premiere also confirmed that Darren Shahlavi of 300 will be starring alongside White as fighter Kano.
Helmer Kevin Tancharoen, who will also be producing and writing the series, said: "It's extremely gratifying to have such talented actors playing these iconic roles. They will bring the essence of Mortal Kombat to life and gamers will be deeply immersed into the game's universe."
White also starred in the unofficial short based on the fighting game directed by Tancharoen, which first attracted the studio's attention.
