The Green Hornet director Michel Gondry will reportedly take on a film adaptation of science fiction writer Philip K Dick's magnum opus Ubik for his next project.
According to Empire Online, Gondry is adapting and directing a big-screen version of the 1969 novel, which follows a psychic security firm hired to protect a corporate mogul's assets from telepathic attack.
The novel's plot is similar in tone to Gondry's earlier and more critically successful films Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and The Science Of Sleep.
Previous films based on Dick's novels include the likes of Blade Runner and Minority Report.
Next month's new release The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, is also based on one of Dick's short stories.
