Ridley Scott plans film about war on terror

Russell Crowe in Scott's 'Gladiator'

Sir Ridley Scott is to make a thriller about the War on Terror, say reports.

The legendary Gladiator director will make an adaptation of David Ignatius' novel Penetration, according to Variety.

The book follows a CIA agent on a mission in Jordan to find the boss of a terrorist group.

Scott's Kingdom of Heaven - about the Crusades – was praised by some Arab groups for avoiding Muslim stereotypes.
