Del Toro to star in 'The Wolf Man' remake

Benicio Del Toro has struck a deal to star in Universal Pictures' remake of 1941 horror The Wolf Man.
The original starred Lon Chaney Jr. as a man who returned to his homeland from America only to be bitten by a werewolf before himself enjoying predatory nocturnal ramblings.
Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven) has begun work on the script, remoulding the original story to make the most of improved special effects, according to Variety.
Producers Scott Stuber, Rick Yorn, Mary Parent and Del Toro himself are hoping for an early 2007 start with a view to a summer 2008 release.
