Judy Davis has been given an award.
The Australian actress, who is best known for roles in movies such as A Passage To India and Husbands And Wives, was given the Don Dunstan Award on the opening night of the Adelaide Film Festival in recognition of her contribution to Aussie cinema.
After accepting the prize, Davis revealed that she considered the arts industry in South Australia to strongly influence the rest of the country.
According to the ABC, she said: "It's got a lot to do frankly with the thinking, the mindset that was coming out of this city, its serious interest in the arts. I think Australia as a whole owes a debt of gratitude."
