Leonardo Di Caprio picked up two nominations in the 'Best Actor' category for Inception and Shutter Island. He faces competition from Jeff Bridges (Tron: Legacy), George Clooney (The American), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man 2) and Ryan Reynolds (Buried).
Di Caprio's co-star Ellen Page is nominated for the 'Best Actress' award alongside Cecile de France (Hereafter), Angelina Jolie (Salt), Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go), Natalie Portman (Black Swan) and Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
Nolan is up for both the 'Best Director' and 'Best Writing' gongs.
The awards, which honour science fiction, fantasy and horror movies and television programmes, will take place this June in California.
