The 127 Hours star, who will host Sunday's ceremony with Anne Hathaway, was speaking to USA Today.
When asked if he is nervous, he said: "No... You mean all the eyeballs in the world? The camera's the camera, whether there's five people watching or a billion."
Franco also revealed that he had studied Jack Nicholson's acceptance speeches when preparing for the Oscars telecast.
"They're always really interesting, because [Jack] thanks people you wouldn't expect him to thank, and then makes you go look them up and wonder what the connection is," he added.
He further confessed that he had seen designs for virtual sets which will be a part of the broadcast, saying that the concept "sounds amazing".
The 83rd annual Academy Awards will air Sunday, February 27 on ABC in the US and on Sky Movies Premiere in the UK.
