The star of The Kids Are All Right has stepped in for Ed Norton, who played the last on-screen Hulk.
Speaking to MTV, Ruffalo said: "We're going out of our way. First of all, I'll be playing it.
"I'll be the first actor to actually do it in motion capture as the Hulk. And so all the features are mine - they're just really big."
He added that the script by Buffy the Vampire Slayer maker Josh Whedon also had comedy in it, as well as drama.
