Neve Campbell 'resisted Scream return'
Published Thursday, Mar 3 2011, 12:20 GMT | By Simon Reynolds

Speaking to Empire, the actress confessed that she was only convinced to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott after hearing screenwriter Kevin Williamson's story ideas for the horror sequel.
"I was definitely apprehensive because we'd decided ten years ago that maybe we should stop there. But ten years later, it suddenly seemed like something that might be worth revisiting," Campbell explained.
"For me, it was a matter of heading Kevin's ideas. I thought his pitch and his concept were really good. As usual, he's really smart, and that made my decision."
Scream 4 opens in UK and US cinemas on April 15.
