According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will open in US cinemas on October 14, instead of in December as was originally speculated.
Clooney directs and stars in the film, which follows a young staffer as he is exposed to 'dirty politics' during a closely-contested election campaign.
The film also stars Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.
Clooney and Grant Heslov wrote the script, which is based on Beau Willimon's Broadway play Farragut North. The pair also wrote Oscar-nominated political drama Good Night, and Good Luck together.
